Statement poster: Lifestyle
the judicious collection.
in sweden we call it klok.
Take your broken heart and turn it into art. The global issues are breaking our heart and to be judicious to us means to have common sense, to be truly honest with the thought that our way of living many times are far from OK and are affecting future generations all over world. To realize that change has to be made and to brave enough to accept the challenge. In our part of the world we have some key issues to deal with.
We think that all you have to do to be a change maker, to be a true hero and to actually help save the world, is to be j u d i c i o u s. The rest will come naturally.
Poster statement: Lifestyle out of stock.
Today many of us in the world are living a lifestyle that is using more resources than the earth has possibility to reproduce. This means that resources are ending. At the same time we’re throwing away more and more each year which is ending up in landfills on the other side of the earth.
The fashion industry is the second largest and most polluted industry, just after the oil industry. It takes 2720 liters of water to make one T-shirt. 20% of the global industrial water pollution comes from just the dyeing and treatment of textile. The industry has gone from 4 seasons into news every week, 52 seasons.
The average swede throws away 8kg textile each year. Textile that most of the time has been made with blood sweat and tears in a developing country. Wearing clothes 50 times instead of five is reducing carbon emissions by 400% and is far more respectful for the garment workers and mother earth. 95% of today’s produced clothes can be reused or redesigned, we don’t have to throw away clothes, we need to find solutions and techniques to repair, redesign and change behaviour.
For more information about the unsustainable lifestyle and the fast fashion industry, we recommend the documentary True Cost.
How to be judicious in this matter?
Buy less, choose well and make it last.
Demand more fair and sustainable products - use your power as a consumer. The industry makes what we ask for.
Rethink all you buy, do you really need this?
Think about how much yourself are wasting and think about how you can change your behaviour?
Ask for ethical, fair trade, eco, krav, organic etc. - it makes a difference.
