Statement Poster: Planet Keeper (40x30)
the judicious collection.
in sweden we call it klok.
Take your broken heart and turn it into art. The global issues are breaking our heart and to be judicious to us means to have common sense, to be truly honest with the thought that our way of living many times are far from OK and are affecting future generations all over world. To realize that change has to be made and to brave enough to accept the challenge. In our part of the world we have some key issues to deal with.
We think that all you have to do to be a change maker, to be a true hero and to actually help save the world, is to be j u d i c i o u s. The rest will come naturally.
Wanted: Planet keeper.
Planetskötare (planet keeper) is one of the sweetest word in Swedish.
We all have seen the trash in the streets. Most of us have also seen how birds and whales are stranded with plastic and shit in their bodies. Heartbreaking is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this issue. In the Pacific ocean it says to be a garbage island the size of Mexico. Trash from all over world, even from Sweden and from Swedes on holiday is just floating around, killing animals and building new islands. It’s insane. Shit just doesn't disappear cuz we’re throwing it in the ocean, a plastic bottle for example could take around 450 years to decompose. How to be judicious in this matter?
- Be planet keeper, look after your planet. Pick waste while walking. running or dancing down the streets.
Recycle, Reuse, Reduce, Rethink, Redesign, Remake.
- We all have a role to play in how we recycle and rethink how we use stuff. Two major things you can stop immediately with is plastic bags and plastic bottles. With a refill bottle and different types of reusable bags och just you school backpack will reduce the amount of waste a lot.
And if you’re a designer of some sort a key here is to design for the end of the cycle? What happens in the end, what should the people do and how do they know that? How do you take responsibility to make sure your products/thing/etc don’t end up in the ocean?
